"I Feel So Lax Today #2" continues the exploration of the state of "laxity," this time through the depiction of a person resting under a blanket on a bed. This image is a deeper examination of the human experience of inertia, fatigue, or resignation. The bed, as a place of rest and retreat, becomes a symbol of inner contemplation or the desire for isolation when the "inner storms" become too overwhelming. It is an exploration of the necessity of stasis, self-reflection, and the acceptance of human weakness, which ultimately contribute to the restoration and "beauty" of human existence.

Jolanda Rendl

Born in Linz, she lives and works in Vienna. She studies painting at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna in the Department of Art and Visual Arts under Prof. Daniel Richter.
In her artistic work, Jolanda Rendl explores moments of everyday life that are often considered rather insignificant. Her paintings approach these situations with a keen sense for the unspoken, for routines, for gestures that conceal more than meets the eye.
Rendl's visual language is calm yet haunting. She uses structuring elements such as patterns and repetitions to create a formal order that adds an additional layer to the content. This results in works that appear both intuitive and precise. Repetition functions not only as a creative tool but also as a mirror of psychic space, an attempt to find support in the in-betweenness of the everyday.
Her works have been shown at Galerie Krinzinger, Parallel Vienna, and other group exhibitions. Rendl creates paintings that don't tell spectacular stories, but rather reveal the depth of humanity through quiet observation.
