Markus Moosbrugger
*1990, Rottenmann
Markus grew up near Admont Abbey and was always fascinated by the frescoes by Bartolomeo Altomonte and the carvings by Josef Thaddäus Stammel in the library. He wanted to be able to do the same.
He took up drawing, caricatures and comics. Later, he became interested in the album covers of death metal bands and the tekno aesthetic. Music production was added to drawing and painting.
He completed the master classes for painting and sculpture at the HTBLVA Ortweinschule and was involved in the SAMA art and culture association as an exhibiting artist and artistic director.
He currently works in his studio in Graz and paints mainly in oil.
Inspiration for his paintings comes from his preoccupation with the environment, psychology, perception, aesthetics, politics, music and materials.
